Contest Information

Embark on your journey through our CTF competitions by following this simple, three-step process:

Registration

Click Register to and fill in your information to create your competition’s account.

Team Up

Assemble your friends as you are required to create a team (at least 2 unique members and only a maximum of 5 members), to enter the competition*.

Compete

After the registration stage ends, the competition will officially begin with the Qualifying Round in August and all the way to the Final Round in September at the Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Da Nang City.
The details of each round can be found below**:

  • Qualifying Round (10th August 2024, Online, 12 hours – Very Easy to Easy Challenges).
  • Quarter Final Round (21st August 2024, Online, 8 hours – Easy to Medium Challenges).
  • Semi Final Round (21st September 2024, VKU (Da Nang City), 4 hours – Medium Challenges).
  • Final Round (21st September 2024, VKU (Da Nang City), 4 hours – Medium to Hard Challenges).

**: The number of qualified teams for each round will be determined once the registration stage is closed. We will announce the news across the competition’s communication channels (Facebook, Discord, Email and Website).

Overview
  1. Rule Amendments
    • The organizer will have the final say on every decisions that are related to the competition.
    • Rules and Regulations are subject to changes at any point during the competition, depending on the severity of the situation and the judgement of the organizer.
Team Composition and Eligibility
  1. Team Composition
    • Each team must consist of 2 to 5 members.
    • All team members must be at least 16 years old by the time of registration.
  2. Eligibility Requirements
    • Participants must be enrolled as students at a recognized university or educational institution in Vietnam.
    • Proof of enrolment (e.g., Student’s ID Card) may be requested at any point during the competition to verify eligibility.
    • Participants must be in the academic year of any course offered by the university at the time of their participation in DDC 2024.
    • Participants must be legally allowed to reside or stay in Vietnam where the competition is held.
    • Participants must have an active valid email address.
  3. Verification and Participation
    • Only participants who complete the verification process with the appropriate documents and receive confirmation from the organizing committee will be eligible to participate in the Semi-Final & Final Rounds of DDC 2024 at VKU.
    • The verification process is essential and must be completed in full accordance with the instructions provided by the organizers.
    • Failure to comply with the verification process may result in disqualification from the event.
Registration and Conduct
  1. Registration
    • Participants must register individually and agree to abide by the rules and regulations outlined by the organizers.
    • Participants must only use 1 email address when registering.
    • Participants are prohibited from registering multiple accounts or participating under different identities.
  2. Member Names and Team Names
    • Member names are fixed from the beginning Qualifying Round and cannot be edited by participants throughout the competition.
    • Team names are fixed from the beginning Qualifying Round and cannot be edited by participants throughout the competition.
    • Prior to the start of the Qualifying Round, member names and team names can be edited freely as long as they do not contain any offensive, discriminatory, or copyright-infringing language.
    • If the member names and team names are deemed to contain any offensive, discriminatory, or copyright-infringing language, the Organizer will issue a first-time warning and ask the alleged parties to change the suitable name.
    • If the member names and team names are found to contain any offensive, discriminatory, or copyright-infringing language for the second time, the whole team will be disqualified from the competition.
    • If there are any unauthorized changes towards the member names and team names after the Qualifying Round, a penalty will be implemented towards the alleged team, based on the severity of the case.
  3. Conduct and Fair Play
    • Teams found to have members who share the same identity will be subject to investigation and potential disqualification.
    • The organizers reserve the right to verify the identities of participants and teams at any time during the event.
    • Participants may be required to provide additional documentation or information to confirm their identity if requested by the organizing committee.
    • Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification and potential bans from future events.
Competition Rules
  1. Challenge Conduct
    • Participants are prohibited from sharing flags, solutions, or any form of direct assistance related to challenges with other participants or teams.
    • Participants are not permitted to alter or manipulate flags within challenges.
    • Unauthorized changes to the challenges, leaderboard, or any components of the competition platform will result in immediate disqualification for the entire team.
  2. System and Network Integrity
    • Participants are not permitted to generate excessive load on any server, network, or infrastructure component associated with DDC 2024.
    • Launching denial of service (DoS) attacks against any machine or service not explicitly designated for the competition is strictly prohibited.
    • Participants must not engage in activities that could disrupt or impair external systems, networks, or services.
    • Participants are only permitted to target machines or services designated for DDC 2024.
  3. Prohibited Actions
    • Social engineering attacks, including phishing or pretexting, are strictly prohibited.
    • Participants must refrain from sending messages containing violent, obscene, or indecent content.
    • Offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language or imagery is prohibited.
    • Uploading files or sharing content that infringes on copyrights or intellectual property rights is prohibited.
Communication and Reporting
  1. Communication Guidelines
    • Participants are encouraged to engage in respectful and constructive communication with fellow participants and organizers.
    • Treat others with courtesy and professionalism, avoiding any behaviour that could be considered harassing, bullying, or disruptive.
    • Reporting violations helps maintain the integrity of communication channels and ensures a positive experience for all.
  2. Discord Channel Conduct
    • By participating in the DDC 2024’s official Discord Channel, participants agree to abide by these guidelines and uphold the values of respect, integrity, and fair play.
    • The use of memes, or in any form of similar media are acceptable, only when it meets the Communication Guidelines.
    • Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in disqualification or other penalties determined by the organizers, based on the severity of the case.
Challenge Evaluation and Awards
  1. Challenge Closure and Evaluation
    • Once a challenge is closed, participants cannot dispute the results or submit new flags.
    • Genuine issues or challenge-related problems can be addressed through support tickets.
  2. Manual Verification
    • Challenges may undergo in-depth evaluation, and organizers may demand solution files randomly or as part of the challenge to manually verify and award scores.
    • Manual verification requires admin marking of submissions as solved; flags are not required.
  3. Awards and Penalties
    • Awards, ranging from 100-500 points, may be given based on challenge solutions and conduct. These can significantly impact the competition standings.
    • Negative points may be awarded for non-compliance with solution-sharing requests.
    • The more documentation teams provide for each challenge, submitted either on Discord Channel’s Ticket System or to the email “hello@digitaldragonsctf.com”, the more awards they may receive.
    • Awards and penalties are at the discretion of the competition creators and Ops.
Advancement Rules
  1. Advancement Rules
    • If a team is not qualified (whether they are disqualified, or unable to continue) to compete in the next round, their slot will be automatically moved down in the rankings, allowing other eligible teams to advance.
    • For the Semi-Final round onwards, which will be happening at VKU on the 21st September 2024, the top 20 eligible teams (only a maximum of 2 teams per university, based on the highest scores) will advance.
    • For the Semi-Final round onwards, qualified teams are required to submit relevant identification documents to the organizer, receive confirmation from the organizer and will have to pay and arrange for their own travelling expenses.
    • In case a team cannot arrange their own travel methods and confirm their competition slot for the Semi Final Round at VKU, their slot will be automatically given to the next eligible team, based on the Leaderboard.

  • Introduction
    • Digital Dragons: The Cybersecurity Challenge 2024 (DDC 2024) is a Cybersecurity Competition that is hosted and organized annually by Evvo Labs and Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU).
    • By registering to enter this year’s competition, you agree to comply with the Rules and Regulations.
    • By registering to enter this year’s competition, you agree to comply with the Terms and Conditions.
    • The organizers will have the final say on decisions that are related to the DDC 2024 competition.
  • Eligibility
    • Please check the Rules and Regulations for more information.
  • Judging
    • The solutions submitted by participants will be judged by a panel of experts in the field of cybersecurity. The judges will assess the solutions based on their accuracy, completeness, and originality.
  • Prizes.
    • The top 5 eligible teams will win the following prizes:
      • First Prize: US $2000
      • Second place: US $950
      • Third place: US $550
      • 1st Consolation: US $125
      • 2nd Consolation: US $125
    • If the teams wish to receive the prize in Vietnam Dong, the currency conversion will be based on the time right after the Closing Ceremony of the competition.
    • The prize money will be transferred to the Team’s Captain account within 30 days.
    • The Organizer will have no say on how the prize is allocated among the team’s members.
  • Eligibility for Prizes
    • To be eligible to win a prize, you must:
      • Be a member of the team that submitted the winning solution.
      • Be in compliance with all of the Rules and Regulations of the Competition
      • Be in compliance with all the Terms and Conditions of the Competition.
  • General Conditions
    • The Competition is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
    • The Organizer reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Competition at any time.
    • The Organizer is not responsible for any technical or other problems that may occur during the Competition.
    • The Organizer is not responsible for any injuries or damage that may occur as a result of participation in the Competition.
